TOWERS HILL
Offering panoramic views of Charters Towers and surrounds, the outlook from the top of Towers Hill is a sight to behold. However, the location is much more than just a photo opportunity.

Towers Hill is covered in historical artifacts and information from both the Gold Rush era and the Second World War, beginning right at the base of the hill with a monument marking the location of the first gold discovery in Charters Towers.
See a glimpse of the Gold Rush in the footings of Clarke's mine and battery, the Rainbow Mill and the ruins of the Pyrites Works. Be reminded of the town's significance in World War II as you pass the remnants of a 1950s telephone line and secure ammunition storage dumps. Complete your visit with a walk around the lookout, featuring numerous information boards about our town.
Looking for a scenic exercise route?
At the base of Towers Hill, you'll find two car parks. From here, the ascend of the 10000 Steps Walkway begins. If you're looking for a challenging climb, an interesting path, and a rewarding view, this is the walkway for you! Get your steps in whilst also learning the history of the town.
